Pamela S. Gecan, President
Ms. Gecan founded American Marketing Services (AMS) in June of 1995, with the firm and its subsidiaries providing a full range of marketing communications, planning and advertising services. Clients include real estate development firms, financial institutions, government agencies, municipalities, and non-profit community development groups.
Ms. Gecan has implemented innovative marketing strategies relating to community reinvestment and community renewal through out chicagoland and the Midwest. Ms Gecan has developed special expertise marketing large-scale mixed-income developments and in achieving economically and racially diverse resident populations. As a former Manager of Marketing and Market Analysis for the Illinois Housing Development Authority, she also has extensive experience with affordable for-sale housing programs targeted to first-time home buyers.
She has directed the marketing and advertising programs for a wide array of housing product. From suburban single-family homes, to urban lofts, to low income housing on the City of Chicago’s west side, Ms. Gecan has produced dynamic, award winning marketing programs for over 20,000 housing units. Campaigns directed by Ms. Gecan have been featured in Time magazine and NBC’s Dateline.
Ms. Gecan holds a Master of Science in Advertising from Northwestern University, and has been a frequent speaker at marketing and advertising seminars sponsored by the Institute for Real Estate Management and the Chicagoland Apartment Association. She Has won the homebuilders award for marketing plan of the year, and has published articles in Illinois Bankers Magazine and Realty and Building. She has also served as a marketing consultant to various municipalities and housing authorities focused on community revitalization
Ms. Gecan has served for ten years on the board of H.O.M.E., a Chicago not-for-profit housing and social service organization dedicated to helping low-income seniors.
