Urban Relocation Services, Inc. (URS), a subsidiary of American Marketing Services, Inc., is a full-service residential relocation corporation that specializes in developing custom resident relocation programs designed to meet the needs of developers, property owners, not-for-profit organizations, and government agencies. The principal owners, Pamela Gecan and June Webb have over twenty years of experience in relocating Chicago area families.  Both principals have planned, implemented and supervised major relocation programs monitored by the City of Chicago’s Department of Housing, the Chicago Housing Authority and the Illinois Medical District Commissions. Ms. Gecan and Ms. Webb are knowledgeable of HUD regulations and guidelines as well as the Uniform Relocation Assistance Act and have supervised the successful relocation of over 2000 families throughout Chicagoland as part of various large-scale relocation programs.

Urban Relocation Services provides on-going relocation services to the Illinois Medical District Commission as well as to Neal & Leroy, L.L. C., acquisition attorneys for the City of Chicago’s Public Housing Commission. The successful placement of families in these two programs has been a result of Urban Relocation Services’ established relationships with a wide range of private landlords and real estate management companies that are able to provide quality and affordable housing.

Urban Relocation offers a comprehensive relocation program which includes all important elements of an effective plan, from writing the relocation plan to the actual transporting of residents to view housing choices. Relocation coordinators are trained in conducting personal interviews with sensitivity, apartment selection and landlord recruitment screening.

Currently Urban Relocation Services has provided relocation services to over 500 tenant homeowner occupants being displaced due to the O’Hare Airport Modernization and Expansion program. This is the largest public construction program in the country. Other significant relocation assignments that require the implementation of the Uniform Relocation Act, include the relocation of residential and business occupants in connection with Metra’s Belmont Road Improvement project in Downers Grove, Illinois, the CTA Brown Line elevated rail line improvement program and the Lawndale Restoration Project. The Lawndale Restoration Project required Urban’s expertise to provide guidance and oversight to profit and non-profit private developers who were charged with rehabilitating over 1,100 units of seriously neglected multi-family rental properties in North Lawndale, on Chicago’s west side.
