Peter Z. Clifford, Vice President
Mr. Clifford was named Vice President of American Marketing Services in February 1999. In this capacity, he manages AMS’ market research activities, while also contributing to the firm’s marketing consulting practice. Mr. Clifford joined AMS in November 1996 as a Market Analyst.
Since coming to AMS, Mr. Clifford has performed or supervised more than 200 market analyses for proposed rental and for-sale housing developments, both affordable and market-rate. The projects that Mr. Clifford has evaluated have encompassed traditional family developments, independent and assisted living senior housing, and projects targeted to various special needs populations.
Mr. Clifford has also overseen a range of consulting assignments relating to residential real estate and community development. Many of these projects have involved affordable and mixed-income housing, including developments utilizing Low Income Housing Tax Credits and HUD HOPE VI redevelopment funding.
Prior to his tenure at AMS, Mr. Clifford served as a Marketing Manager for Homart Development Co., the commercial real estate development subsidiary of Sears, Roebuck and Co. At Homart, he oversaw the development and implementation of marketing communications and public relations programs designed to build awareness of, and generate leasing activity for, the company’s office and retail projects. Mr. Clifford also worked closely with senior management in the development of corporate marketing programs.
Mr. Clifford has also worked as an independent marketing consultant, providing clients with market analysis and marketing communications services on a range of projects. In addition, he has advertising agency experience, having worked in account management for Kenrick Advertising, Inc. in St. Louis., Mo.
Mr. Clifford holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from Vanderbilt University, and an MBA, with a concentration in marketing and management, from Washington University in St. Louis. He is also a licensed real estate salesperson in Illinois, and a Realtor.
